How Meditation Helped Me Become a Peaceful Person

Meditation has been known to change’s people’s lives and help them to make a better person.

It even increases your chances of becoming more successful in your life. It transforms your whole life. Meditation is done to train your mind to go in the unconscious state of mind, to be aware of your body’s part. Meditation gives exercise to your mind. It is very important to meditate to keep your mind psychologically fit.

Meditation is a very ancient technique used to soothe and calm your mind. It connects you with the spiritual being. It takes you on the path of spirituality. Your mind is connected with the greater force, to the universe. Chanting and mantras are used in meditation to pray to God. The earliest practitioner known is Buddha, who meditated to get enlightenment.

Over the years’ people have accepted meditation all around the world. Now there are different types of techniques like transcendental meditation, Mindfulness Technique, Creative Meditation etc. The benefits of Meditation are many. I have listed some.

  • Benefits of Meditation: Meditation relieves stress. It lightens up your burden. You feel relaxed. Whether stress is physical or emotional all can be solved through it. By meditating you feel energized and rejuvenated. You feel the flow of energy moving up in the body. It increases your blood circulation, lowers the risk of heart diseases and makes your immunity strong. It improves your concentration level, clears up your mind. Increases your creativity level and potential. The most important thing it gives you peace of mind and you become tolerant enough to handle the situations in your life.
  • My Journey: I am Shikha and I was a class 12th student a year ago. I was currently facing a tough situation in my life. I was not able to focus on my board exams and competitive exams. I was very much stressed. I felt as if I don’t have a goal in my life. I have lost it. I was so much frustrated that I was uncertain that what will be my results. I was not able to sleep properly or eat anything because of it. I had lost the power to focus and was having a terrible time.

Then I met a Mindfulness Coach with whom I discussed my problems. He asked me to do meditation regularly. At that point, I decided that I can’t be like this and decided to give it a try. In the beginning, it was very difficult for me to sit in one place quietly. I was not able to sit even for 5 minutes also. But I decided to go on. Then slowly and gradually I used to sit for 15-20minutes and meditate. I started seeing the benefits of it. I was able to focus on my breath and felt relaxed and calm by doing it. Now meditation becomes a joyful and pleasing activity for me.

I feel natural and when I am meditating I feel that I am in another world. All thanks to my consultant and parents who encouraged me to meditate. Now I do meditation daily and it has become an integral part of my life. If somehow I forget or don’t get time to meditate I can feel the difference in my life and activities which I do routinely. 

  • How it changed my life: Meditation is a very powerful thing and if you do it consistently without stopping you can feel many changes and witness the benefits. I can say that Meditation has changed my life greatly. I am a changed person. All my negative thoughts, stress, tensions are reduced. I have a positive outlook towards things and situations even if they are tough. I can now work harder with concentration.

I have learned the art of focusing through meditation. My sleep cycle is improved. I wake up feeling happy and ready to face the challenges of the world. I have developed a lot of good habits like reading positive books, listening to positive people. There is self-improvement in me. Meditation has helped me to have a strong perspective and character in life.

I feel that the loop goes on. Still, I have to go on a long way and I want to get more deeply into it and become more and more self-aware. I have become a better individual having peace of mind.
