Reiki is an old Japanese holistic healing technique that has now gained recognition worldwide. It works on the principle of universal life energy that can be transferred from one being to another. Reiki is used for relief as well as for holistic healing for many ailments. Though medical science has not scientifically figured out how it works, Reiki has been found to cure many incurable diseases.
Reiki is found to be effective irrespective of the religious and spiritual beliefs of the person receiving it. Reiki healing has become beneficial for many diseases and helped many human beings. Reiki works on all living and non-living things it also works very well on relationship issues. Is life a game of numbers Reiki is a form of alternative medicine developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikio Usui. Since its beginning in Japan, Reiki has been adapted across varying cultural traditions. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing or hands-on healing.
Through the use of this technique, practitioners believe that they are transferring “universal energy” through the palms of the practitioner, which they believe encourages healing. Karuna is a Sanskrit word used in Hinduism and Zen. It means any action to diminish the suffering of others or compassionate action. When individuals experience enlightenment they report that all beings are known as one. therefore it is natural to extend karuna to everyone without distinction because we are all one.
Karuna reiki means compassionate energy or as it is more appropriately ‘The way of Compassionate Energy’. It is healing and spreading the compassion of the creator to all, and all creation. Karuna Reiki is heart-centered healing. It is a loving, heart-centered compassionate healing art. It works best with the focus on the loving compassion of all creation flowing through you.
This is a healing art and meditative practice designed to cultivate compassion. The first degree opens the energy channel and permits the student to channel Reiki mainly at the physical level, both for himself and for others. It consists of one initiation in the Usui Tibetan system. After the initiation, the student may note subtle energy flowing through his hands. This can be perceived in various ways, including heat, coolness, tickling, buzzing, or just a strange feeling in the hands.
Sometimes it takes a period of time after the initiation before the student feels the energy. This level is open to anyone. No previous experience or preparation is required. It is usually taught in one weekend. The initiation connects the student’s energy system to Universal Energy.
Energy blockages are released, balancing and harmonizing the major energy centers known as chakras. The initiation opens the central energy channel leading from the crown of the head to the bottom of the spine. It connects the student to Universal Energy permanently, allowing him to channel the energy whenever he wishes.
At first, the amount of energy channeled after the initiation can vary considerably, but the more the student uses Reiki, the more constant the energy becomes. At this level, the energy is 80-90% on the physical level. The remainder is on the mental/emotional and spiritual levels.
