Priya Dhandapani:(Life coach | Author) Just like so many of you reading this, I was a young girl who had her dreams and ambitions. However, life had other plans for me and I got married at a young age when I was 21. I married a lovely human being whom I am proud to call my husband and we are blessed with two beautiful children. My family is perfect and everything I could have asked for. Love, support, encouragement, status, wealth…I had it all and yet I felt completely lost, without a purpose, empty…as if something was missing from my perfect from outside life.
I started many small businesses on the side, followed my passion for cooking and sports, maintained a great social life, all while juggling being the homemaker of my dreams. But success felt empty. Happiness felt hollow. Something did not feel right. Before I knew it I was slipping into a depression, and I wanted to do something about it.
I wanted to find my identity beyond the roles I had to play as a wife, mother, and homemaker. I took great pride in my family and my home, and being a homemaker is a beautiful job. But I didn’t want to feel like JUST a housewife. There is great honor and respect in this role, but this alone is not a woman’s identity. A woman can be all this and MORE. My journey took a new turn when I met my coach and mentor. I came alive. I felt confident. I started to dream, I started to believe again. Friends, I started to achieve.
