His brother is a cardiologist and her younger sister is on her way to becoming a doctor as well. The pressure was immense on Mahima’s shoulders! She had internalized the belief that to belong in the family she must establish a great conventional career as well.
So, she studied science then MBA, and then settled as a product manager in an IT firm. But Mahima was unhappy. She always seemed anxious and low. This is what generally happens when you are not in sync with your inner power and keep denying your intuition.
During the weekends, Mahima would spend her hours baking. She would find herself completely immersed in whipping the cream, baking the dough, and coming up with exciting cupcake flavors. This was Mahima’s passion but she was too scared to admit it.
What will my parents think?
Baking is not a noble profession
This is just a hobby
I must be a total loser
Poor Mahima, parental expectations, her standards of perfection, and uncertainty stopped her from following her passion. But eventually, Mahima realized that something was not right, and she could no longer ignore the probing unhappiness.
She consulted a certified hypnotherapist. She had read extensively about how hypnotherapy can help in developing a resilient mindset, evoke confidence, and get you ready to find your passion.
In Hypnotherapy, Mahima confronted her irrational beliefs. She felt more in control of her thoughts and emotions and found the courage she needed to follow her heart.
6 months after the Hypnotherapy, Mahima left her job and started her own baking business. Today she is happy, and peaceful and found success in following her passion.
To find your passion, you need to be comfortable with the discomfort.
