Why Consult A Qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist To Overcome Insomnia?

Insomnia creeps up every night
Under my blanket, it sleeps tight
While I lie awake
Tossing and turning
As my mind races through millions of things
Fatigue and exhaustion are now apparent on my face
If only sleep could come, and take it all away

Insomnia is a silent thief of peace, leaving countless people tossing and turning through the night and waking up tired. Sleep is essential for mental and physical well-being, and the lack of it can lead to exhaustion, irritability, and serious health problems. If you’re struggling to find restful sleep, consulting a qualified clinical hypnotherapist may offer a path to relief.

Mihir, a client at Holistic Living, battled insomnia for six years after losing his mother to thyroid cancer. Despite trying medications, meditation, and therapy, nothing seemed to work for him.

It was a miserable time for Mihit. He would lie wide awake in his bed every night, even popping pills didn’t do the trick. His body and soul were exhausted and his energy levels were at an all-time low.

With no options left, Mihir turned to a qualified clinical hypnotherapist. He had read about hypnotherapy’s effectiveness in treating insomnia and decided to give it a try. He had nothing to lose.

Insomnia is a sleep disorder characterized by difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or both. It can result in inadequate or poor-quality sleep, leading to fatigue, mood disturbances, and problems with daytime functioning.

Insomnia can be acute, lasting for a short period, or chronic, lasting for weeks, months, or even years. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, anxiety, depression, medical conditions, medications, caffeine or other substances, and disrupted sleep-wake cycles.

The signs and symptoms of insomnia can vary depending on the type and severity of the condition, but some common ones include:

  1. Difficulty falling asleep
  2. Difficulty staying asleep (frequent awakenings during the night)
  3. Waking up too early in the morning
  4. Feeling tired upon waking up
  5. Daytime sleepiness and fatigue
  6. Irritability, anxiety, or depression
  7. Difficulty concentrating or remembering things
  8. Increased errors or accidents
  9. Headaches
  10. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, constipation, or diarrhea
  11. Muscle aches or tension
  12. Feeling tense or on edge
  13. Reduced performance at work or school
  14. Lack of energy
  15. Reduced motivation or initiative

It is important to note that everyone’s sleep needs and patterns are different, so the severity and impact of insomnia can vary from person to person. If insomnia disrupts your daily life, it’s important to seek professional help.

Mihir had tried talking to a doctor, consulted a therapist, and even approached a healer regarding his insomnia. For many people, these modalities work effectively, however, Mihir’s condition was chronic and long-lasting.

Moreover, it began right after his mother’s demise, leaving him traumatized. His mother was suffering from thyroid cancer and Mihir took it upon himself to cater to her everyday needs.

Unfortunately, a late working night at the office exhausted Mihir to the extent that he dozed off at his working desk. That is when his mother took her last breath. Somewhere, Mihir blamed himself for not being there when his mother needed him the most. He was also gripped with the fear that if he slept again, something terrible would happen.

Mihir was not aware of these subconscious beliefs and negative emotions. At a conscious level, he felt that he had made peace with his mother’s death and had finally moved on in life. But in reality, he never gave himself the time to grieve and let go of what had happened.

Mihir was a highly logical man who could not deal well with emotions. Therefore, he buried the pain instead of acknowledging it and healing himself.

After reaching out to a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, Mihir opened up about his past experiences and how his mother’s demise had led to 6 years of sleepless nights. The hypnotherapist realized that these issues were deep-rooted and required a holistic and in-depth treatment plan.

The hypnotherapist used talk therapy to help Mihir process his emotions, combining it with Hypnotherapy and mindfulness practices. This helped Mihir to understand how to deal with difficult situations in life especially the grief of losing a close one.

During the process of Hypnotherapy, Mihir became aware of his emotional state and gradually learned how to process his emotions and find healthy ways of coping with them. The qualified clinical hypnotherapist helped Mihir to find acceptance of his past and guided him with relaxation techniques that worked best for him.

“I don’t know if it is right to say this but my therapist is a magician. I dozed off instantly in the first session itself! It was so relieving to sleep after such a long time. Yes, it took time to resolve my issues completely but all that time and money was worth it.
The best part was that I could let go of my past. Honestly, my mental health was not good ever since my mother passed away but you know how we are… I just pushed it at the back of my head. The whole process of grieving and getting it out of my subconscious mind gave me a great sense of peace. I finally sleep well and maintain a good work-life balance!” laughs Mihir

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy where a qualified clinical hypnotherapist uses certain techniques to help individuals achieve a state of deep relaxation and heightened focus. During hypnosis, the hypnotherapist guides the individual into a trance-like state, where their attention is solely focused on the therapist’s voice and suggestions.

Hypnotherapy works by accessing the subconscious mind, where deeply ingrained thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors reside. In this relaxed state, the individual is more receptive to suggestions that can help them change their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Hypnosis can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including insomnia, anxiety, depression, phobias, addictions, and chronic pain. It can also be used to help individuals improve their self-esteem, achieve their goals, and enhance their performance in various areas of their lives.

It is believed that the state of deep relaxation and focused attention that is induced during hypnosis can help individuals access and reprogram their subconscious mind, leading to positive changes in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors

Hypnotherapy provides a holistic and personalized approach to treating insomnia. Unlike medications, which often offer temporary relief, hypnotherapy focuses on resolving the underlying issues, ensuring long-term results.

Key Advantages:

  • Targets emotional and subconscious triggers
  • Combines relaxation techniques with emotional healing
  • Results in sustainable improvements in sleep quality

Insomnia or sleep difficulties are often underlying symptoms of existing mental health concerns. It could be the result of past experiences, remuneration and overthinking, excessive stress, poor sleep habits, and other factors.  Seek professional help to identify the root cause of Insomnia and help develop healthy ways to deal with emotions and thoughts.
