Dr. Seema’s vision is to help persons of all ages especially growing and young to understand and recognize the innate potential to achieve personal and professional excellence in all strata of life.
Dr. Seema Sharma, Counselling cum Clinical Psychologist, heading YIPS (Young India Psychological Solutions) has more than 20 years of experience in various fields of psychology and has worked for different organizations like NGOs, hospitals, and school setups. Have worked for USAID projects in collaboration with Family Health International (FHI).
Dr. Seema did her schooling in a small town in Punjab. And did her graduation from Punjab University Chandigarh in psychology (Honors). She did her post-graduation from the same university with specialization in clinical and counseling psychology and also did Ph.D. from same University.
She has been awarded a fellowship from ICSSR for completion of her Doctorate Degree and also been awarded a scholarship from NCERT for completion of a research project on Suicidal Ideation, Depression and Psychotic Tendencies among Teenagers.
In all the setups she has extensively worked for the children even during my Ph.D. She intentionally selected school children as the target population.
She has also conducted research for NCW ( National Commission for Woman) challenges faced by night shift women employees in BPOs.
Now Dr. Seema conducts individual as well as group counseling sessions for diverse populations.
As the level of stress, anxiety and conflicts is continuously increasing in society, so all the sessions are designed to meet the needs of different individuals and groups. The sessions are also focused on academic difficulties, I.Q, memory attitude, and aptitude-related issues. Another dimension covers the behavioral problems, identity crisis, and parent-child relationship conflicts, among children.
Apart from this understanding and treating depression among women is another area of great interest to her and to her organization, YIPS. Sometimes women feel lonely, hopeless, and helpless to overcome these feelings, and showing them brightened part of life is a major concern of our center.
Dr. Seema is well versed in applying all the therapies either psychotherapy, behavior therapy, or client-centered therapy, and doing testing as per the demands of the situations and requirements of the individuals and groups. But, she is inclined towards client-centered therapy, where proper space is provided to all the clients to express their feelings.
She believes that instilling a ray of hope can alter the distorted thought process of the individual and can help them to restore a happy and healthy life again, so always striving for better lives.
